The word of “Seerah” is an Arabic Language word. The meaning of Seerah is to be travel or to be a journey. So, it can be said that the biography of a person is called seerah because when we study and read inn biography we actually travelling or talking about his journey Through all his life. In modern age the scholar and “Seerah” writer have specified the word “Seerah” with meaning that the “Seerah” deal with the study the biography of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). So, no a days when the scholar say the word “Seerah”. The mean biography of the life and times of the human beings, Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) who no doubt has the Ideal Character.
Studying the “Seerah” of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) is a sign of love for the Prophet (SAWW) and loving him is enjoined upon us and it is one of the Principle of Faith. We should love him more than our Parents, Children all people and even our own selves.
The Holy Prophet said,
“None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his Father, his Children and all mankind”
(Al- Bukhari- 157)
The Holy Quran also directed everybody to adopt the life of The Holy Prophet (SAWW) as model for him life.
The Holy Quran said,
لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِیْ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَنْ كَانَ یَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَ الْیَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ وَ ذَكَرَ اللّٰهَ كَثِیْرًا
(Al-Ahzaab-21)
You have indeed in Messenger of Allah a beautiful Pattern of (Conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.
The Holy Quran itself teaches the “Seerah” and help us to understand it. The “Seerah” study assists us to realize and understand the meaning, explanation and interpretations of the Holy Quran. It teaches us how we have to say prayer and perform other components of Islam. And we have to perform the rights of Human beings and other Communities.
